Nightfall
This book is an anthology of short stories covering a wide range of everyday lived experiences – from
family feuds, to crime, to abuse of women and children, to witchcraft and muti and traditional doctors, to
father/son relationships, to rape, poverty, anger and pain, and even humour. Its name, Nightfall, is
significant in two ways. Firstly, it is the name of the opening story. Secondly, and I think most importantly,
it is an effort by the author to encourage people to spare a moment particularly during nightfall to gather
around and read a story or two before they go sleep. While some of the stories are straightforward and
simple to understand, some appear abstract, offering no immediate meaning and therefore depending on
the wisdom of the reader to work out the premise. Nightfall is a package of stories for the young and old.
It aims to excite, to entertain, to empower, to transform.
